KC's Homeschool Dance Group
Who We Are
American Rhythm consists of several homeschooling families that come together to perform and have fun. Each mom has a role in the group and our dancers are split into classes grouped by age. We learn all different styles of dances, but our focus is clogging. Dancers learn some techniques, but we mostly teach to perform.
What We Do
We take 10 weeks to learn a new show based on that year's theme. Then in the fall and late winter we go around to the community and perform. We love performing at senior centers and nursing homes. We have a full hour show with costumes and accessories. We bring all our own equipment as we are a traveling dance group!

Our Goals
Homeschooling families come together for activity and connection.
Learn different styles of dance in a modest way with clogging as our niche.
Bridge the gap with older generations by performing in the community and interacting with them.
Proudly supporting our country with patriotic themes.
Honoring that our country was founded as "One Nation Under God".

Our History
American Rhythm was started around 2009 as a co-op for homeschool families. Eventually the focus was solely on dancing, especially clogging. The dancers performed the same show year after year and performed all year long around the community. Over the years different directors have made changes to the group. Our focus now is on performing for the senior citizen and disabled communities during an academic year. Our current director is Krystle Willmore, she has been director since 2023.
